This luncheon will focus on the realities and challenges that procurement professionals face when seeking and engaging Indigenous business, including:
- Creating an Indigenous Procurement Policy that truly has the desired effect.
- The blanket requirement of Indigenous business within supply chain and the strain it places on procurement.
- The Diverse types of Indigenous businesses in Canada.
- The harsh reality of "false" Indigenous business in procurement.
- The barriers to entry for Indigenous business to be found/accepted by supply chain.
- Creativity in the procurement process to ensure Indigenous success and good procurement outcomes.
Rob will discuss from the perspective of someone who builds Economic Development corporations, drives their business growth, advises Procurement/Supply Chain on Indigenous Procurement and also sees the procurement process as a vendor in the supply chain.
