COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides an in-depth exploration of modern logistics as a strategic function within end-to-end supply chain systems. Learners will examine how procurement, planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution integrate to deliver value in increasingly complex, global, and omnichannel environments. The course emphasizes critical decision-making, including trade-offs in network design, inventory management, and operational strategy, while leveraging digital tools, analytics, automation, and AI-driven technologies to enhance performance. Learners will also assess logistics performance using financial and operational metrics, manage outsourcing and compliance within global trade frameworks, and develop resilient, sustainable logistics strategies. By the end of this course, learners will be equipped to design customer centric logistics solutions that drive efficiency, adaptability, and longterm supply chain success.

COURSE GOALS

Upon completion of this course, candidates should be able to:

  • Understand the foundational concepts, structures, and functions of logistics and supply chain systems.
  • Analyze end-to-end supply chain processes including procurement, planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Evaluate trade-offs in logistics network design, inventory decisions, and operational strategies.
  • Apply digital tools, analytics, automation, and AI-driven decision-support systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Design customer-centric, cost-efficient and resilient logistics solutions for global and omnichannel environments.
  • Assess logistics performance using financial, operational, and qualitative KPIs.
  • Manage outsourcing relationships, compliance frameworks, and global trade requirements.

REFUND and TRANSFER POLICY

All refund, withdrawal, and transfer requests must be sent by email to [email protected]

FULL REFUND: You are eligible for a full refund without penalty for cancellation or withdrawal if the request is received in writing up to 14 days before the start date.

REFUND WITH FEE: You are eligible for a refund minus an administration fee of $150 for cancellations or withdrawals received in writing between 6 and 13 days of the start date.

NO REFUND: No refund is available for cancellation or withdrawal within 5 days of the start date.

TRANSFER:  You are eligible for a transfer to a future offering without penalty if the request is received in writing up to 5 days before the start date. Thereafter no transfer is available. Transfers must be used in the current or subsequent term.

 

PAYMENT POLICY

If the invoice option is selected, payment must be received 2 weeks before the start date. If payment is not received, Supply Chain Canada reserves the right to remove the student from the class.

Within 3 weeks of the start date, the invoice/cheque option will not be available. Payment will be accepted by credit card only.

What is the asynchronous learning?

Asynchronous learning is a form of online, self-study and is designed for those who prefer to work at their own pace, while meeting submission deadlines as defined in the course overview. Learners will not have live, scheduled meetings or classes, but will participate via our learning management system, Brightspace (D2L), where information, ideas and learning experiences can be shared. Learners will also have access to an instructor.

What is synchronous learning?

Synchronous learning, previously known at Supply Chain Canada as virtual, instructor led. Learners will have live, scheduled classes via Zoom with the instructor and fellow classmates. This format is designed for those looking for an interactive learning experience, and to network with other participants. Learners may have readings and assignments to complete ahead of the start dates that will facilitate the multi-day class discussion. Participants are expected to remain up to date with the deadlines provided. Please NOTE the time zone in which you register for synchronous courses. Please NOTE the time zone when you register for this format as there are multiple options.
